Working With Collections

Collections are data sets (such as faces) that can be stored on the platform and used in pipelines. Components like Face Recognition and Face Recognition 2.0 can compare detected faces with those stored in a collection, automating actions such as access control or sending security notifications, among other uses.
The home page of this module lists all collections registered in the system, represented by cards. Each card displays the collection’s name, its description, the number of items it contains, and its creation date, as shown below.
Creating a Collection
To create a collection, click the Create Collection button in the upper-right corner of the screen and select the type of collection to create from the menu. Currently, only one type is supported, called Faces Collection, which is used by facial recognition components.
In the window that appears, enter a name under Collection name and a description under Collection description. Note that the collection name is required, but the description is optional.
Adding Records to a Collection
To add a record to a collection, click the card representing it on the Collections screen, then click the Add record button in the upper-right corner. In the window that appears, click the Face Images button to upload a picture of the face you want to add to the collection.
We recommend that images have a maximum resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a maximum file size of 1 MB. For best results, the face should be centered in the photo, well-lit, and free of accessories (such as glasses).
Enter the name to be associated with the record in the Face Name field and click the Register button to complete the process.
Editing Records in a Collection
To edit a record in a collection, click the card representing it on the Collections screen. The next screen will display all records associated with the collection, including their photo, name and the date they were added to the collection.
Click any record to edit its properties, such as its name and associated images. You can also upload additional images for a face, to increase detection reliability, by dragging them to the Face Images area.
As a safety measure, the platform compares a new image with the previous one at the moment of upload, preventing one person's image from being added to another person's record.
To delete previously registered images, hover the mouse cursor over the thumbnail and click the trashcan icon.
To save your changes, click on the Save button.
Deleting Records from a Collection
To delete one or more records from a collection, check the box to the left of the record and click the Delete button in the upper-right corner of the screen. Confirm the operation by clicking the Delete button in the window that appears.
Editing a Collection
To edit a collection, click the ⠇ (More Options) icon in the upper-right corner of the card representing it and select the Edit option. You can edit the collection’s name and description. Click the Edit button to save the changes.
Deleting a Collection
To delete a collection, click the ⠇ (More Options) icon in the upper-right corner of the card representing it and select the Remove option. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
